Earthora Orchard Living Services LLC is a small, family-led agency based in Culpeper, Virginia, providing licensed DD Sponsored Residential care for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities.
Our mission is to give children and adolescents with developmental disabilities who cannot remain in their family home a safe, stable, family-style place to live — by finding, training, and supporting families who open their homes and hearts. We believe every child deserves a real home, not an institution.
Earthora was founded by Matilda Acheampoma Barfi after she saw firsthand how many barriers families face trying to access genuine, family-based care for children with developmental disabilities. She built Earthora to break down those barriers — one certified family at a time.
Matilda holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), along with a background in Medical Laboratory Technology. She founded Earthora to give Virginia families a genuine, family-centered alternative to institutional care.
Christalyn conducts weekly check-ins and home visits with our certified Sponsor Families, and is often the first familiar face a new Sponsor Family gets to know.
We are licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), and we hold ourselves to the highest standard of person-centered, trauma-informed care in everything we do.
